Our dynamic multi-disciplinary team of Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy, is dedicated to providing quality interprofessional services in a family-oriented facility. All therapies include in-depth evaluations and individual treatment plans where functional goals and outcomes are determined. Increased independence and quality of life is our ultimate goal for those we serve. Kenai Kids Therapy treatment rooms and innovative equipment are designed to create fun activities for the patient. Physical Therapy
Our Physical Therapists assist children ages 0-18 reach developmental gross motor milestones, normalize movement patterns and rehab from sports injuries or surgeries. Our physical therapists work with each patient on individualized activities designed to help them grow stronger, independent, and more efficient. A physical therapy session may look like play to a casual observer, however all treatments aim to improve the patient’s motor performance. Stretching, strengthening, balance and coordination training are just a few ways we assist our patients in becoming more confident in their physical abilities. Our physical therapists also help patients obtain assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and orthotics.

Concerns that our physical therapists can help your child with
- W-sit posture in sitting, standing, climbing
- Tendency to injure ligaments and muscles
- Avoids tummy time as an infant
- Has difficulty rolling or only rolls over one side
- Seems “stiff” or “floppy”
- Tilts head to one side, avoids turning head to one side, head is flat on one side
- Skipped the crawling phase as an infant
- Frequently stumbles and/or falls

Occupational Therapy
Our occupational therapists are trained to assist people of all ages perform functional tasks for life occupations. The occupation of childhood is to develop skills necessary to become functional and independent adults. Our occupational therapists evaluate upper extremity function, fine motor, sensory motor, visual perception, social, emotional, and daily living skills to assist in performing functional tasks independently. Regardless of developmental, orthopedic and/or neurologic origin, our OTs will work with you and your child to create goals to improve occupational independence.

Concerns that our occupational therapists can help your child with

Sensory Integration
Our PTs, OTs, and SLPs have training and specialize in sensory integration theory and techniques. Sensory processing impairments effect all areas of childhood development. Our therapists use a interdisciplinary approach to treat each child effected by sensory processing disorders.
If a child has difficulty integrating sensory information the following challenges may occur:

Kenai Kids Therapy offers a unique opportunity for children ages 2-18 to experience equine movement to aid in meeting functional goals established between parents and therapists. Our physical therapists and occupational therapists treat kiddos at Lucky Horse Ranch in Soldotna, Alaska incorporating the advantageous and powerful impact of equine movement to help improve your child’s sensory and motor development.
